Digital Year 1 + Language
In 2021, Algoma U and CultureWorks launched Canada’s first Digital Year 1 University + English Language Program for Algoma’s Computer Science program. The online program allows you to complete your first year Computer Science courses and academic English from home, and take Year 2 on campus when you are ready.
In addition to undergraduate programs, CultureWorks students can apply to the Graduate Certificate programs offered by Algoma University. A Graduate Certificate is an ideal way for students to add a new skill set to complement your degree, giving you an interdisciplinary edge in the post-graduate job market. All Graduate Certificate programs require CultureWorks Level 6, with the exception of Business which requires CultureWorks Level 7.

Valuable Work Opportunities for International Students in Canada
Post-Graduation Work Permit
Students who graduate from academic programs with a two-year duration or longer are eligible for a Post-Graduation Work Permit for up to three years. The post-graduation work permit allows students who have graduated to obtain an open work permit to gain valuable Canadian work experience. Contact the International Student Advisor for details.

1. You apply through CultureWorks
For students who are academically admissible to Algoma but require English language preparation, you simply apply through CultureWorks to receive conditional acceptance to your program at Algoma.
2. You receive your conditional offer
You will receive your Letter of Acceptance (LOA) to Algoma U before you begin your CultureWorks program.
3. You complete your CultureWorks program – and you’re in!
As soon as you successfully complete your CultureWorks program, you gain direct entrance into Algoma – with no IELTS or TOEFL test required! It’s that easy.
