5 Day Trips You Might Take When You Attend ESL School in Canada

There are many trips and activities you can try when you take English courses in Canada.
If you become an English as a second language (ESL) student here, you will not only improve your English skills—you will also enjoy a fun learning environment with many chances for adventure!
ESL students taking CultureWorks English courses go on exciting day trips (day-long visits to great locations and places for activities) with their new international friends.
Here are five day trips you can take if you study with us.
1. Climb to the Top: ESL Students Can Visit Fun Adventure Centres
In the summer, most of Canada is sunny and warm. This beautiful weather is perfect for day trips to adventure activity centres in cities like Ottawa and London, Ontario.
Brave students try rock-climbing, hiking, zip lining, go-kart racing, and more. These activities can be a nice break from your ESL studies, and a great opportunity to take some pictures.
2. You Can Visit Toronto While You Study at a Canadian ESL School
Did you know that Toronto is the biggest city in Canada? Toronto is also one of the most diverse cities in the world, full of 2.8 million people from many different cultures.

In Toronto, ESL students can see:
- The CN Tower
- Ripley’s Aquarium
- The Art Gallery of Ontario
- The Royal Ontario Museum (or “ROM”)
- Sports teams like the Toronto Maple Leafs (hockey), Toronto Raptors (basketball), and Toronto Blue Jays (baseball)
That is why many students in ESL school choose to take CultureWorks’ day trip to this great city!
3. Winter Fun at ESL School: Go Ice Skating, Skiing, or Snowboarding!
Most Canadian places are only snowy in winter—but when winter comes, we are always ready to enjoy it!
Can you ski? Do you want to go tobogganing (also called sledding)? If you take ESL courses at CultureWorks in the winter, you can choose to try these activities on winter sport day trips.

4. Students ‘Go Wild’ at African Lion Safari, a Great Canadian Zoo
You can find very beautiful local animals native to Canada, like monarch butterflies and Blue Jays (the birds Toronto’s baseball team is named after!). But while you study in Canada, you can also see animals like lions, tigers, giraffes, monkeys, and elephants in Canadian zoos.
One of Canada’s best zoos is the African Lion Safari. ESL students at CultureWorks always enjoy seeing the wild animals on our African Lion Safari day trip. If you love animals, this is the perfect day trip for you!
5. Visit Niagara Falls When You Study English in Canada
If you take an English as a second language program here in Canada, you must not forget to see Niagara Falls!
These amazing waterfalls are one of the ‘Seven Natural Wonders of the World.’ They are located at the border of Canada and the USA, and host over 25 million tourists every year. That is because people from all over the world know that this is a very special place. Don’t miss it!
