Fun Fall Activities to Try While at ESL School in Canada
The season of autumn, sometimes known as fall, is a beautiful and exciting time in Canada. This is especially true in the province of Ontario, where CultureWorks’ several different campuses are located. Canadians love to participate in traditional autumn fun, which usually involves eating lots of tasty foods, visiting with family and friends, and spending time outdoors enjoying the beautiful autumn weather before the snow comes.
If you want to come to Canada to study English as a second language, make sure you try these fun Canadian fall activities!
Go Apple Picking with Your New Friends from ESL School
The autumn months in Canada are also known as harvest season, when many delicious fruits and vegetables are ready to be picked and enjoyed! Apple picking, in particular, is a popular outdoor fall activity you can try during your English for academic purposes courses. There are plenty of beautiful apple orchards in Ontario that you can visit to pick some apples, taste apple-flavoured desserts, drink warm apple cider, and make memories with your friends.
Find Your Way Through a Corn Maze
Canadians across the country love to go to their local corn maze for some fall fun. Usually found on farms, corn mazes are made by clearing pathways through a field full of corn. The corn is very tall, so you have to find your way through the maze and be careful not to get lost in the twists and turns. You can work together with your new friends to find the way out, and then get yourself a steaming cup of hot apple cider as a reward!
Visit a Pumpkin Patch During ESL School
One fall activity that you can’t miss during ESL school is going to a pumpkin patch. You will have tons of fun exploring different activities at the patch, such as tractor rides, seeing farm animals, and more. You can also pick out the perfect round, orange pumpkin!

You and your new friends can then get together to carve your pumpkins. Carving pumpkins is a fun tradition Canadians do before the holiday of Halloween. You might even want to have a pumpkin-carving competition to see who can make the spookiest or most creative design!
Take a Scenic Walk and Enjoy the Changing Fall Foliage
Ontario is a breathtaking province in the fall. Most of the leaves on the trees change colour, making it the perfect time to visit local parks and go for a nice long scenic walk. Don’t forget to bring your camera! The brightly coloured leaves will make the perfect backdrop for photos to send home to your family and friends.

Visit a Farmers Market or Fall Fair While Taking English for Academic Purposes Courses
While farmers markets and fairs happen all year round, during the fall they start to get a little extra special. Merchants will begin stocking up on delicious fall foods like squash, turkey, freshly-baked pumpkin pie, and cranberry sauce. It’s the perfect opportunity to buy some local food for you and your friends to enjoy as you study English in Canada and build memories that will last a lifetime!
